Chris Schroeder examines the attributes of God, drawing from Exodus 3. He discusses the nature of obedience, God's revelation, His omnipresence, omniscience, and omnipotence, as well as His holiness, righteousness, and justice. The sermon also touches on God's love and care for individuals in their specific circumstances.
Outline and transcript
0:00 Blind obedience and why obey God?
Number of years ago they had a situation in which, and most of you don't know this, so because you're not old. Those older folks know this situation And do you remember, you older folks, you remember Watergate? Yeah. Okay. And maybe you studied it, but I'm...
We we lived it. We lived Watergate. Right? And they asked one of the lawyers for Richard Nixon. And that's...
I'm not gonna explain the whole situation. But the guy the guy just said this about following Richard Nixon's commands and his philosophy, I guess. But he said it was just pure blind obedience. Just pure blind obedience. And he just did whatever Richard Nixon asked him to do or H.
R. Haldeman or some of the guys that worked with Nixon. Some guys went to prison for that. And it's just really amazing. Blind obedience.
We're going to talk about today is we're going to talk about... Can we kill these two spots? Thanks. That'll be helpful. He's going behind the cone.
Yeah, that's better. Thank you. We're going to talk about a firm foundation. Why should we obey God? I think that's a great question.
Why should we obey God? Anthony, this is this is a question of, I think, that, a lot of people ask themselves. Why should I obey God? Is there really a God type of thing? And so we're going to look at...
I don't want to be so... This is weird. Okay. We're going to look at the nature of God. This morning, we're going to look at the nature of God.
We're going to look at the personality of God and then also the attributes of God. And first of all, and do you remember the movie... Oh, I don't watch movies. Did you watch the film called The 10 Commandments? How many have ever seen The 10 Commandments?
The... With... What's his face? Burt Lancaster. Right?
Okay. So you've... If you've seen that, you understand that. He's he's tending Jethro's, his father in law's sheep. Right?
He's tending them and he's... And you know, it's great, great, great acting and all that. And he looks over and he sees this bush and it's burning but not being consumed. And that's got his attention. That has got his attention.
And so he's tending the flocks, he looks at those, looks at that and he sees that and and he goes over and investigates the whole thing. And God speaks to him. Take off your sandals. You're on holy ground. You're on holy ground.
In other words, it's separated. You're on holy ground. Thank you. Jesus put her. Thank you so much.
Appreciate it. And so how do we know who God is? And this is this is... Exodus three fourteen. If you want to turn there in your Bibles, Exodus three fourteen, because God tells...
God commissions, he commissions Moses to do to do a work. I want you to go. This is Schroeder loose paraphrase of the Hebrew. Very loose paraphrase. In fact, I don't even know how to say the Hebrew.
So... But you look at... He says he says to him, I want you to go. God tells Moses, I want you to go and deliver my people from Egypt, out of Egypt. And he goes...
And as... And Moses asks the good questions. I mean, I asked the right questions. He says, okay, so I go to them and how do they know that you sent me? How do they know I am that I am and thou...
And he says, how do you know that you sent me? And Moses... And God speaks to Moses and says, I am that I am. And thou shall say unto the children of Israel, I am has sent me unto you. Exodus three fourteen.
And it's a it's a good it's a good good question and a fantastic answer. Because when you look at this and we we're going to... I give you the... We look at the personality of God. Is God a person?
And in order to be a person, in order to be a person, I mean, is a rock a person? Is that tree a person? I mean, is that a person? What makes a person a person? And so you have to have an intellect, emotion, and will.
I know some people are as dumb as rocks. You know, or as dumb as a tree. But I mean, to be a person, you have to have intellect, emotion, and will. And and so therefore you have to... The evidences of intellect for the Lord, he says in the...
We talked about the burning bush. I am has sent me unto you. This is what you're going to say to the children of Israel. The Hebrew is beautiful. The I am equals, if you were to translate the I am, the self existent one who reveals himself.
6:00 General and special revelation
How did this get here? All that. We look at this and we go, wow, that's fantastic. There's something bigger. But it doesn't tell me specifically who God is.
I might ask the question, if I look at nature and I say, is there a God? I might say that. I might say, who made this? What is what is this all about? Psalm 19 also tells us in verses seven through the end of the chapter, it tells us about the word of the lord.
That's called special revelation. This out here is all general revelation. God has revealed himself to us and we look at the moon and the stars in Psalm eight and we look at this and we say, wow, there's something bigger But God has has to reveal himself to us. And there are other passages there. God is a God of knowledge, etcetera.
Can you read that okay? Can you read that down there? Not too good, I'm sorry. Okay. That's first Samuel two three and Romans eleven thirty three through 34.
But God is a God of knowledge. God has spoken. Okay? So we're going to... And then also, does God have a personality?
Is God a person? He has intellect. God spoke. Right? And then he has emotion.
In Jeremiah thirty one three, he says, I have loved you with an everlasting love. I have loved you with an everlasting love. Romans one eighteen, the wrath of god is revealed. An emotional reaction to sin. So is God have emotion?
Does God have intellect? Does God have emotion? Yeah. The answer is yes, he does. And then not only that, but he also has a will.
Oh I love this part because Isaiah fourteen twenty four through 27. Such as I have intended it to happen just as I have planned. He has a will. God has a will. And I'm gonna go before some of these slides.
God will for you. God has a will for you. See, we're made in the image and likeness of God. It's a... You know, some people, the theologians get real fancy on this, imaginable day, you know.
Imagine... In the image of God. Right? You're made in the image of God, but how so? With intellect, emotion, and will.
You have an intellect, you have emotion, and you have a will. And that's how you are made in the image of God. It's not that we have arms and legs or anything. No. We have an intellect, emotion and will.
And so we're made in his image. So he has made you in his image. And then, see I'm really fancy on this. I was learning how to do these PowerPoint type of things. But there are attributes of God, self existent.
The self existent one who reveals himself. He is self existent one. In other words, nobody or anything brought him into being. He is the self existent one. No one or nothing brought him into being.
This god that has revealed himself has revealed to us that no one has brought him into being. Wrap our little minds around that. It's called eternal and so we're going to see that also as well and he is immutable. One of the beautiful things about god never changes. He doesn't get tired.
He doesn't get jacked up with caffeine. He doesn't none of that. God is always consistent. He is eternal and immutable. He's unchangeable and there's god is unchanging and unchangeable.
What does that do for you and what does that do for me? It means this, it means that god, we, when we go to god, we are getting a consistent god. A god who is always there, always is the same. You know, I was it it was interesting to me. I like Psalm eight because when I lived in the country, I live kind of in the country now but when I lived in the country, I'd walk my driveway, which was a long driveway.
I'd walk it back and forth and all that kind of stuff for the blood clots, bro, for the blood clots. You know, so I wouldn't get the blood clots going. So I would do this. And I'm walking maybe five miles up and down my driveway. Right?
And I look... I do this at night, and I look at the stars. And I'd see the Big Dipper. And I'd see... My favorite is Orion, the seven stars of Orion.
It's mentioned four times in the bible. And I was thinking to myself, you know that Abraham saw that same constellation? Do you know that Abraham saw the same sun, saw the same moon, he saw the same stars, and, Orion, the constellation Orion is mentioned four times, actually mentioned four times, the seven stars of Orion. And I thought to myself, God, back in those days, God was showing himself that he was consistent. He is immutable, he never changes.
12:26 Omnipresence, omniscience, omnipotence
He is everywhere but he's not in everything. Okay? That's called that's called weird. That's what it's called. But he is everywhere at once.
And it's not like he's just a pseudo pod like an amoeba, he's got a little pseudo pod here and we see it and then he withdraws it. No, no. He is totally present everywhere. How's that one for you? So you're not getting a part of God, you're getting all of God at all times.
He is everywhere. So think about that one for a moment. Let let that gestate in your mind a little bit. That's scary because we think that nobody sees us. We're we're alright.
We're we can do whatever we want to do. Nobody sees us. Wrong. God god does. God sees us.
God knows all about us. He's omnipresent. He's there. Wow. Whoo.
I like this. We can get excited. And he's omniscient. He knows all things. He knows everything.
The thing about that's weird about this one is, he knows all actual things and he knows all possible things and all the variables of the possibilities that never occurred. God knows everything. He doesn't acquire it. He already has it. He already knows.
It doesn't mean, it does not mean that he because he knows he must must act. No, it doesn't mean that. He just knows. He knows it all and the thing about it is we cannot we cannot avoid that. He knows all actual and all possible.
He knows the past, the present, and the future. He knows it all. This is our god. There's no sneaking up on god. There's no like did you know that I'm going through this, lord?
Yeah, he knew that. He knows that. He knows all all the past. He knows what's happening now. He knows the future.
He's got it all down. He knows exactly and he didn't learn it. He's always known it. It's amazing. And omnipotence, he's all powerful.
The god that we have in the Bible, he has shown himself to be all powerful. He is nothing is too hard for god except limited. There are limitations by his own nature. By his own nature. And also, here's one for you.
By our will. We don't want God to be powerful in our lives. Right? Sometimes we do that. Sometimes we say that.
God is all powerful though. His power never dwindles. He's not like that bunny, you know? The ever ready bunny, you know, starts to dwindle and we get batteries. We got lithium batteries.
This battery will last for ten years. It's unbelievable. Never, never dwindles. Think about that for a moment. Think about the power of God in your life.
He knows you so intimately, so powerfully, And he can work in your life more than you could ever imagine. You can't you can't imagine it because he's all, omni means all. All potency, all powerful. And also he is, we've got other ones, eternality. He's always been.
His eternality never had a starting point. Ours does. We we were brought into, you know, brought into into being, if you please, at the moment of conception, but he's always been. This is why we say that the Holy Spirit the Holy Spirit is eternal because he's the third part... Person of the trinity.
The eternal spirit. That's what the book of Romans calls him. So he always has been, always will be. Hebrew, the writer to the Hebrews says, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And so the lord Jesus is god in the flesh and he exhibited all these attributes that we're going through right now and then not only eternality but infinity.
If you could mark out, if you could mark out space, infinity goes beyond it. It goes beyond that and I'm not, what's that guy's name that little rocket? What's this? Buzz Buzz Lightyear. Yeah.
Yeah. Infinity and beyond. Right? Wrong. Only god.
Only god is infinity. He... You know, it's like the guy... The... What do you...
What's that? Cosmonaut. I call him a cosmonaut. Cosmonaut from Russia. He gets up into space and he gets...
Can you imagine this guy that... You know, he's circling the earth. He's circling the earth and he goes, I don't see God, he must not exist. You know, the the reason why you're up there is because of God. He's holding you in the orbit.
18:53 Holiness, righteousness, justice
You know? And god is holy. When we talk about god being holy, it means that god is unique. That's what it really means. It literally means separated.
Separate. God is unique. There is no one like him. I don't think we're going to see a little ring around his head, you know, showing that he's holy like some pictures try to show the the family and all that, the holy family and the lord Jesus. No way.
Holiness is separated. He's one of a kind, totally separated from everyone and everything else. He's separate from other gods. He's the only true god. He is totally separate from sin.
He is completely pure. Now, maybe you'd like to write this down but righteousness and justice are phases of god's holiness. Righteousness and justice are phases of god's holiness and that is the righteousness is the outworking of god's holiness and his actions and justice is god's holiness in the form of him his impartial dealings with all other persons. And so that's righteousness and justice are phases of his holiness. And so when we talk about holy, there's no approaching.
I mean, no man has ever seen God and lived. The scripture said, right? But now, he's revealed himself to us. John one one, in the beginning was the word and the word was with god and the word was god, right? And then, verse 14 of John one and the word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld his glory.
The glory of the only begotten of the father, full of grace and truth. When we look at Jesus Christ and we will handle and see him. We will handle and see him. We have to understand that he is god in the flesh and there is no one like him. So, holiness and then love.
God, the Bible says, god is love. Don't remember the word order here. It doesn't say love is god. Some people have that that way. No, it god is love.
Agape love. The Greek would the Greeks would put it that way. The agape love. It is the total selflessness of god. For us.
Total selflessness. Think about this just for a moment. We we have in our minds John three sixteen. You you got that John three sixteen down? For god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son.
For that he showed a release and he did not perish but said. Amen. For god so loved the world. Think about what he loved us in our sinful state. Rebellion against God.
Our hearts were wicked, wicked, wicked, wicked. And yet he still loves us. In fact, a friend of mine, I don't know where he is, I I'm sure he's with the Lord. His name was Jim Russell. I heard him at Willow Bible Chapel years and years and years and years ago.
Almost sixty years ago, I heard him say I heard him say, God knows the absolute worst about you, and yet he still loves you. Wow. So much so that he sent his only begotten son. So much so, he knows the absolute worst about you and still loves you. The love of god and then also truth.
Jesus said this, I am the way, the truth, and the life. What is truth? It's the absence of a lie. It is what is actual. What is the reality of what we're seeing here?
That's the truth And Jesus encompasses all of that. He is the truth. He spoke no lie. He didn't mislead anybody. He is absolutely what you saw with Jesus is what you get.
And he is the truth, the attributes of god and so not only this but he is the self existent one. Nothing or not nobody brought him into being and we looked at this verse already. And then also, come on boy. Come on. The self existent one who reveals himself.
As the father hath life in himself, so he hath given to his son to have life in himself. Wow. John chapter five. Come on. I gotta get new batteries.
24:14 God is not silent
Why isn't god talk to me right now? God has been talking to you. He has been talking. He's been talking to the world through nature and he's also talked to us through his son, the lord Jesus. And he's also talked to us through his word, the bible.
And he's also talked to us, the world, through you. Through your life, through your testimony, and also from your verbal action. Your verbal, your verbal testimony. You know, your verbal, your verbalness and telling people about Jesus Christ. Even to the point if you just said, hey, I just want to let you know Jesus loves you.
Jesus loves you. If that's all you can say, say it. Do it. I mean, you know, god is love and he is not silent. Immutability, unchangeableness.
God is so infinite and perfect in every way. It's impossible for him to change for the better. He can't change for the worst. It's inconsistent. We've got a number of scriptures for that.
Then, immutability and we've got a we've got an issue here but we'll we'll we're going to go through that. We'll go we'll skip it right now. God is there and he never changes. I was talking to my friend Mike in the back there. I was talking to Mike, and Mike and I were comparing our ages.
Actually, we were comparing how we limp, how we can't stand up real straight anymore. You You used to play basketball. Look how tall you are. Yeah? Well, that's a curse.
Because I'd rather be short and in health, good health, than tall and a great basketball player and then can't walk now. It is tough. It is tough. I got to guarantee you that. But with God, he never changes.
He never changes. And then you have the three omnis. Omnipresence, omniscience, and omnipotence. God is all present. I wish this thing would work a little faster.
All knowing and all powerful. By the way, we say we say we have attributes too and they're communicated to us. Love, truth, those are called communicable attributes. They emanate from God but he gives them, they're communicate it by God to us, righteousness, etcetera. We have the holiness.
But there are three attributes that can never be communicated to man, and that you're looking at him. Man cannot be all powerful. His creation, Satan cannot be all powerful. You can't do it. They can't do it.
Omniscience, all knowing, only these are the three omnis and this is what makes God who God is. Who God is as well as the other things that we talked about. He own only God possesses those. And we've gone through that. Let me just go back here.
God is here and he is with you. Listen, it takes us four hours to get here and I love it. It was a great drive. Always stop at the right rest stop, go to the bathroom, get over here, etcetera. Love it.
You know the drill, you know? You get your thing going, right? When I come anywhere, you pre... Ray will tell you that when you when you preach, you want people to get what you're saying. Because you've studied it and you've got...
And and it may... It'll make a difference in their life. I want you to know what God wants you to know. And that he is with you and he'll never leave you nor ever forsake you. So that's why the hymn...
The writer to the Hebrews said, so I may boldly say the Lord is my helper. I will not fear what man will do unto me. So I don't know how you feel about that, that God is with you always. If you've received Jesus Christ as your personal savior, then I believe that the trinity indwells the believer. Really?
Yeah. Yeah. Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians. John, Jesus said, I and my father will make our abode with you.
And Paul, in Romans, if you have not the Holy Spirit, you are none of his. Romans chapter eight, you're none of his. So, is with you. So, in the darkest times, when our minds are, when everything is screaming at us or when we're walking in a dark night and we're wondering if god is there, will we be safe and all that kind of stuff? Will you remember that god will never leave you nor ever forsake you?
30:06 Why obey God? God's love
No wonder the disciples said to to the Lord Jesus. He said, you know, he said, they said, Lord, you have the words of eternal life. To whom can we go? You have the words of eternal life. You're the only one.
And if we were to look at Psalm one thirty nine, and we were to look and do a real study on that, we would find out that this is... God knows all and he's always known it. Back in 1938, when Adolf Hitler was thinking of taking power over Poland, and then he did in 1939, God knew you. This is how great his intellect is. He knows you.
He knows you intimately. Wow. Omniscience. We talked about God is here and he knows you. I'm a name dropper.
I've met some really famous people. I just got to tell you, I have. I've been, you know, the former mayor, the former governor of the state of New York, Hugh Carey. All these... I've Jack Lemmon.
I've met Hulk Hogan. All these kind of guys. Right? And I can say, well, I I know I know Chuck Norris. Well, I knew him.
I did. I knew him. We were on a first name basis. Hulk Hogan. He came up when when Barb was pregnant with JC.
He came up to Barb. Barb's doing crunches, but pregnant. And she's doing crunches, and he comes up to her and goes, you gotta stop doing this Barb. Not working, I mean she's ready to deliver. Not working very good.
And his wife says Tony, that's his real name, Tony leave Barb alone. Right? So we've known some famous people. I know God. But the cool thing is that he knows me.
He knows you. He knows you so intimately, he knows you better than you know yourself. He knows you. Why should we obey God? There's no one else like him, that's for sure.
No one can never exhaust or exercise his power that he never tires. Nothing outside of him prevents him or hindrances his power. Nothing. And those are the verses there for you and then god is here and he's powerful for you. Come on man.
I got a... Eternality, infinity, holiness, love, truth. We talked about these already. He is eternal. He is free from the succession of time.
We talked about that. Psalm 90, I love this. He is here and he is always with you. I hate technology. There you go.
I'm going to stand over here. There you go. Eternal, infinity. We talked about all of this. He's without termination.
He doesn't ever end. He never started. He's always been. That's how he has revealed himself to us. His infinity makes it possible for him to love, to take care of, and to listen to every believer at the same time just as each believer, just as if each believer were the only one in existence.
Don't you love this? Don't you love this? I love this personally. He's here and he'll never fail you. And then he's got his holy holiness.
He is here and he is righteous and holy for you. What are we talking about here? I got this slide presentation, who cares, this could be a honking distraction. From the facts that God intensely loves you and wants to take care of you, has the power to do what you could never do. He knows about your situation bro.
35:32 God knows all about your situation
Why did I do that? God knows all of it. He has it all down. You know what I think that we should be doing? I think we should be throwing ourselves and onto trusting him.
Because if he knows you, he knows all about you, he knows the end, past, and the future, he knows the present, he knows that if a person comes to him, and he has actually said, come on to me all you that labor and are heavy laden, what what did he say? I will give you rest. He will also guide you. He will also teach you. Even when we've sinned, we see in Psalm 32.
I will I will, how does that go? Verse eight, 32 verse eight. Yeah, read it. Read it. It's a good one.
This is after his great sin that he did. His great sin. What did what did he say? Verse eight. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go.
I will guide you with my eye. Yeah. This is after he sinned and he yielded his life in repentance to the lord. He yielded his life in repentance to the lord and he asked for forgiveness and god forgave him and then what did god say? I'm not throwing you on the heap.
You're not, I'm not done with you. I will guide you. How does that go again? Instruct you. Instruct you and teach you in the way you should go.
I will guide you with mine eye. This is our God who intensely, and that's a great word, intensely loves you. Talk about emotion. Does god have emotion? Yes.
His love is wonderful. His love is undeserving. It's selfless. It's free. It's righteous.
It's everlasting. It's basic to its nature. Desires return love. That's why our will can buck him because he wants to have a relationship with us. Can you imagine this?
God of the universe wants a relationship with you. So when you're going through basic and you're going, I I made a big mistake joining the army. You know? And you go up into one of those towers at Fort Benning and you go, are you out of your mind? I'm jumping.
Are you kidding me? I hope this thing opens up. And then when you go to the C 1 Thirties and go out the back of it and your guys are going you're going, woo, what am I crazy? What am I, a perfectly good airplane? That kind of thing.
Is God there? Yes. And in the moments of your grief, and in the moments that your heart is sinking and you just you just don't know what to do. And your heart's breaking. Is God there?
Yeah. And he's the... Listen, when my... And I I can speak on this one about my mother. When my mother passed, she was one of my best friends.
I never felt closer to God than at that point. His ministry to my life and to my mind was incredible. He is a great and loving God. He loves us. Mercy and goodness, where righteousness and justice were phases of his holiness.
Mercy and goodness are phases of God's love. You know that song? Surely. How's that go? Surely.
All the days of my life. And I will... Okay. You know this song. Agree.
I don't know it. I don't know it. But that's that's it. The love of God. He is here and he loves you.
40:15 God loves you and cares
Well, DL Moody is sitting in the audience listening to this guy. This great preacher, DL Moody is listening to this young young preacher named Drummond. I think that was his name and he's John three sixteen, don't, I mean, the Bible's got 1,189 chapters in the Bible and you're John three sixteen again. You got nowhere to go but John three sixteen, but he was so moved with the love of God, DL Moody, that he had etched on each globe where the gas the gas came out, you know, lit up gas lights. He had etched on each globe of that God is love.
And this is the God we have. God loves you. God cares about you. God really does. And so we also look at God as truth.
Agreement and consistency with all represented by God. Opposed to the false and fictitious, God is the only real God. All the others are false. All the others are fake. There is no other God.
Always dependable, will never mislead into error. It can always be relied upon, rested on. The Hebrew word for truth really means dependable. So you have this here. Okay, truth.
Man, I love it. And then continued with truth. The scriptures on this. Now you say, Chris, can you send this to me? You tell me how to do it, I'll send it to you.
You tell me how to do this, I have no idea how to do it. God is here and he will never lie to you. And this is... This goes right to the inspiration and inerrancy of the scriptures. The bible is without error.
It is inspired by God. God breathed and it is without error. And you can trust it. Whatever the word of God says rightly divided in the original autographs, you can take it and trust it. Why?
Because he's truth. He's truth. God is here and he has spoken. He is here and you can trust him. You can trust him.
So, Anthony, you know, I've been saved like for fifty some years and it's been maybe a shorter time for you. Right? But we have the same access to the same god. And it doesn't matter how old you are in the lord. Everyone of us make us...
Makes decisions every day and sometimes multiple, multiple times a day to say, I turn this over to you, I trust you in this. I don't know how to handle this. I trust you. Even if you feel like you know how to handle it, I still trust you. Guide me.
I I I might be blindsided. Lord, help me. Help me with this. And not only that, may he bless you. Hey, bless you.
Bless you. Who's blessing you? May the lord bless you. Okay? May the lord richly bless you but he has blessed us.
We talked about this, all the different things in the scriptures and all that kind of stuff. But he has blessed you with himself. Christ in you, the hope of glory. I don't know if we understand that totally. We get to heaven.
You know, when Carl passed this Earth, closed his eyes for the final time to this Earth, he opened them immediately. Same with your mom. Open them immediately and saw Jesus. And this is unmitigated. They're not getting this they're not getting this a series of educational lectures on the attribute.
They're looking at him. They're understanding and here's the here's the thing about it. It's going to take the rest of eternity to know God. And we will never, never, ever get to know him in totality. We'd have to be God to know him in that way.
This is our God. He has blessed us with himself. And I I look at this and I say to myself, thank you Lord for saving my soul. Thank you. Listen, Mike, when you and I are getting older bro, and then we've got Wayne here, crew of 52, we're same age, kind of.
I don't know what month. April. Happy birthday bro. Yeah, happy birthday. You're older than me.
By a few months, you were the crew of fifty two, right? But you know this to be a fact, the older you get, you just turned 74, the older you get, the less time you know you have. And that snow on the top, I shave it away. But that snow on the top starts to tell us and talk to us, especially when they get the knees and the back and the blood clots and all this kind of stuff, you know you only have a short time. I like it with Psalm, I think it's Psalm 37 says, my times are in your hands.
I want God to use me. I want God to take whatever time he has for me. And you don't know how long you've got. You don't know. You could be 17, you could be 20, you could be a lot younger.
You just don't know. I give you my life. I want to study your word. He he exhorts us to do it. Study to show yourself approved unto God, workmen that need not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Study the word of God, not to be a scholar, but to be a saint. To let him guide and minister. Guide your life and minister through your life. Because there are a ton of people out there that do not know him. And if they don't know him, they will perish.
48:33 Prayer for power and understanding
We pray and ask you that you would work with power in our lives. You're the only one. You are the only one, and we ask you, well, that we would understand that and that we would yield our lives to you. Father, thank you for being such a great and loving, caring God to us. And sometimes you chastise us, but because you love us and you want us to be adjusted to your will.
And so we ask you to do that continually. In fact, you've told us that if you don't do that, we're not even your children. So, Lord bless, we pray. In Jesus' name, amen.
