0:00 Opening prayer and introduction of the topic
Good morning. Praise the lord. Good morning, man. Let's pray. We don't have to pray that god will speak because every time we read or hear god's word from the Bible, he does speak but let's pray for our hearts and our ears to hear what the spirit of the lord is saying to his church.
Father, we praise you. We bless your holy name. Thank you for our wonderful, merciful savior. Lord Jesus, how can we ever say thank you enough? Lord, we pray that you would give us ears and hearts that are tender and open to receive your word this morning.
Give us understanding, we pray, lord, as we just search the scriptures, this word disciple, and, we need your help, lord. You know our hearts are so prone to wander like the song says and we just pray that you give us concentration. We pray that you would arrest our thinking as it were and keep distractions from our minds and minister to us lord as we just read your scriptures. Thank you, Lord. In Jesus' name, amen.
1:18 What is a true disciple? What do they do?
1:37 The word 'disciple' in the New Testament
There's no such thing as that in the scriptures. It's just not there. We all grow in our relationship to Christ. We all definitely grow in our information, our knowledge, and we all struggle day to day with surrendering to be this true disciple. But that is a word that is synonymous synonymous with Christian, and we'll see that from god himself.
He's gonna explain that. The word disciple is the word... I don't know how to pronounce it exactly, but it's in the Greek word that god used was methatease. Methatease. I probably have that wrong and a simple definition is a learner, a student, or a pupil, and thus, it would lead the person to become a follower.
Follower of this person's teaching, a follower of the person himself. Again, it's only in the New Testament and it's only found in the gospels and in the book of Acts. It's the only place the word is actually found. So, let's begin our little word study short just to introduce because there's 260 plus times that it's used but just to give you an idea, first from the gospels, a few, and then from the book of Acts. So, if you turn to Luke chapter 11 verse one, Luke chapter 11 verse one and it happens again in the book of Luke before this.
It's just repetitious disciple, disciples. It's used as a noun almost all of those over two sixty times. It's used as a verb four times but it's the same root word It happened verse chapter 11 verse one. It happened that while Jesus was praying in a certain place, after he had finished one of his disciples, his learners, his pupils, his followers said to him, lord, teach us to pray just as John also taught his disciples. John had followers who were following him around, listening, learning, his teaching, and what was John's teaching?
I've come to what? Are you the Christ? Are you the Messiah? Well, then, who are you? Because he kept saying, no, I'm not.
Well, then, who are you? I'm a voice crying in the wilderness. Prepare you the way of the lord. He was sent as the forerunner. We know that to proclaim that the kingdom of god is at hand.
Repent. The kingdom of god is at hand. What did he mean? Well, the kingdom, the king is here. The sovereign rule and reign of god's kingdom comes to Earth in the person of the lord Jesus Christ and Jesus's first words were the same thing.
Repent for the kingdom of god is at hand. Sometimes, if it was in Matthew, they would say the kingdom of heaven. Synonymous, same word, there's no difference to kingdom of god, kingdom of heaven. The Jews being very religious, Hebrews, they didn't even want to write down the name of god. So, they said the kingdom of heaven.
It seems to be that's why they did that but they're both true and the kingdom of eternal heaven of our eternal god comes to Earth in the person of Christ and so John gathers these followers. They began on their own to follow the teaching and then Jesus Christ, of course, the fulfillment of that, John goes on and he says, behold the lamb of god and they started to worship and follow, I should say, the lord Jesus Christ. If you look in the book of John itself, gospel of John chapter one, Again, there's just a few places but it's always you've read it. You remember as you read through but I hope the lord might as you read through continue through the gospels in the book of Acts now as a believer that you'll start to see this word disciple pop up all the time and chapter one verse 35. Again, the next day, John was standing with two of his disciples So, John, this is in the very beginning of the public ministry of both of them, John and the lord Jesus.
6:58 Jesus with his disciples
It's the same exact word. And so as you get to the book of acts, we'll see that it is an identifying mark. They're synonymous. Born again, you're a disciple of Christ. You start to hear the message from one of his Christ or John the Baptist followers or somebody else who started to follow and learn about Christ and they would proclaim the same to you.
You heard, you believed, you're now a Christian, you're now born again, you now have the Holy Spirit, you're now classified, identified in the scriptures. You'll see this in the book of Acts as a disciple. It's it's when we get to that time after Christ and the spirit comes that you see that they're absolutely synonymous with a believer. John chapter two, Of course, a few disciples, this is the beginning, his first sign. It says, chapter two, on the third day, there was a wedding in Cana Of Galilee and the mother of Jesus was there, and both Jesus and his disciples.
There's a handful. It's interesting when you start to get in the the, we all visualize, and we should. We think. We we communicate. We understand in pictures in our mind, and we can just, I remember when I was a young Christian, I guess I I I pictured Jesus was just on the on the Earth.
It appeared and all of a sudden, there's thousands of people. It wouldn't like that. It was just one or two, one or two, and then it grew quickly, of course. But the disciples and they were invited to the wedding. And then, of course, if you look at verse 11, the bee this beginning of his signs turning the water into wine, Jesus did in Cana Of Galilee and manifested his glory and his disciples who were following him already and listening to his teaching.
Now, they're believing in him and this is the first demonstration manifestation of his glory according to that passage right there. So, now, we're going to shift to the book of Acts. Again, there's just a couple and it's in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Just you'll see it all the time. His disciples, his disciples, his disciples, his disciples.
Acts chapter six, In the first few verses there, So, this is after Pentecost. There's already 3,000 saved and shortly after that, there's some debate if it's a whole another 5,000 or whether that was now the new total but either way, it's either 5,000 or 8,000 disciples, believers, and they were all, you'll see, as we look further on that a true disciple was baptized after he believed on Jesus Christ. So, at now at this time, while the disciples were increasing in number, like I just told you, a complaint arose on the part of the Hellenistic Jews against the native Hebrews because their widows were being overlooked in the daily serving of food. So the 12 summoned the congregation of the disciples. Notice, all the believers.
These are true. We... As you study the book of Acts, you can see they're all true born again believers. They've experienced conversion. The Holy Spirit is in them, and now they're called simply disciples.
And they're they're among the the congregation of disciples. It's not desirable for us to neglect the word of god in orders to serve tables. Therefore, brethren, select from among you seven men that fill with the spirit whom we must put in charge of the task, but we must devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word. The statement of... Found approval with the whole congregation, and they chose Stephen, a man of faith, and the holy spirit, Philip, and the rest there and verse six and they, these, they brought before the apostles and after praying, they laid their hands on them.
Verse seven, the word of god kept on spreading and the number of the disciples continued to increase greatly in Jerusalem and a great many of the priests were becoming obedient to the faith. So, these seven verses, there's just reference. You can see it's interchangeably. It's not just people who were seeking. No, the disciples were those who had already been converted.
12:40 The conversion of Saul of Tarsus
And at this point, he now takes on the name of Paul because god calls him to minister to the Gentiles. So Acts chapter six... Give me a second here. Acts chapter nine, I'm sorry. Now Saul still breathing threats and murder against the disciples.
So now as you walk through the story of acts, just to get us all on the same page here, you start to see that the enemy is rising his head and disciples, followers, believers in Jesus Christ start to get hated and persecuted just like the lord promised would happen. They killed all the prophets, Jesus said, right? Right from the beginning, as soon as sin came into the world, Adam and Eve sinned, the first baby ever born on planet Earth. Adam and Eve were created, then they had a baby, right, from the union. First baby murders his own brother because sin is now in the world, and unrighteousness hates righteousness.
And the enemy is now ruling, and there's this incredible war with the two kingdoms, unrighteous kingdom of Satan, and man is born into that and the righteous kingdom of being born into that by the spirit of god born again, and they're at war with each other. Now, Saul still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the lord went to the high priest and asked for letters from him to the synagogues at Damascus so that if he found any belonging to the way, again, that's synonymous. These are people that are following the way, the teaching. They call it the way because Jesus said, he's the way and it is the way. He is the way to god and so we see the disciples here that Paul was traveling all about going to, capture and persecute.
Verse 10, we're just skipping through a few verses here. Now there was a disciple at Damascus. So, this is after Paul gets knocked to the ground. The lord appears to him, Jesus, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? Persecuting the church, of course, and so he's three days without sight.
He didn't eat any food or water at that time. And then in verse 10, now there was a disciple, a student, a pupil, a follower of the Lord Jesus at Damascus named Ananias. And the Lord said to him in a vision, Ananias, and he said, here I am, lord and then he sends the lord sends him to go and lay hands on Paul and pray for him and verse 19, if you jump down to there, My mistake, it wasn't a comma, it was a dash. So, I was going to just summarize that whole statement there and you see yeah, pick it up in verse 10 again. 11, And the lord said to him, get up and go to the street called Straight and inquire at the house of Judas for a man from Tarsus named Saul for he's praying.
He's seen in a vision a man named Ananias come in, lay hands on him, and so that he might regain his sight. And Ananias answered, no, this guy killing everybody and the Lord assured him. Verse 15, but the Lord said to him, don't worry, go for he is a chosen instrument of mine to bear my name before the Gentiles and kings and sons of Israel. I'll show him how much he must suffer for my name's sake. And it goes on.
And, verse 20. Now for several days, after Paul is... He took... Takes food, he gets baptized after Ananias comes to him. Now for several days, verse, 19.
For several days, the end of verse 19, he was with the disciples. There's this group of people called disciples who are following, believing on the lord Jesus. And immediately, he began to proclaim Jesus in the synagogue saying he is the son of god. Verse 25, Technology is great when it's cooperating. Sometimes it doesn't.
Okay. Verse 25. So now Saul, Paul, we'll start in verse 24, but thereafter, Paul, he's preaching, and now they're persecuting him. But their plot became known to Saul. They were also watching the gates day and night so that they might put him to death.
But his disciples, ah, Paul's disciples. And, again, Paul wasn't getting people to follow him. It was all about Christ. So these disciples of Paul were believers, but his disciples took him by night, let him down, and, got to see him, go off in freedom. Verse 26, when he came to Jerusalem, he was trying to associate with the disciples, but they, the believers in Christ, were all afraid of Paul, not believing that he was a disciple, a true disciple, I would add there, right?
But Barnabas took hold of him, brought him to the apostles, described that how he had seen the lord on the road, that he talked to him, and how at Damascus, he had already been speaking out boldly in the name of Jesus and was with them, the disciples moving about freely in Jerusalem speaking out boldly in the name of the lord. One second. Sorry. If you go back to Acts chapter 14 now. Starting in verse 19.
And again, the disciples were increasing in numbers. They were growing in faith. They were getting stronger. But when a person came to know Jesus Christ, accept, believe, identify with Jesus as their personal lord and savior, they were called a disciple and they were with the disciples. Verse 19, but Jews came from Antioch and Iconium and having won over the crowds, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city supposing him to be dead.
But while the disciples, the followers that were with Paul, followers of Jesus, stood around him, he got up and entered the city. The next day, he went away with Barnabas to Derby. After they had preached the gospel to that city and had discipled, there's the verb tense, one of the four times it's a verb, had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch. What were they doing? Verse 22, strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith saying through many tribulations, we must enter the kingdom of god.
When they had appointed elders for them, who's the them? It's the disciples who are now in certain areas and they're gathered together as this group of followers, students of Jesus, pupils of Jesus. And, of course, this is the... What a church is. It's the called out ones, the ecclesia.
And Paul is... And the other apostles are appointing shepherds to elder to oversee them to be elders and they fasted and prayed and they commended them. To the lord chapter 11. Chapter 11 verse 19. So there was persecution going on and many were growing.
The numbers were growing. The people were growing. It was spreading like wildfire through the power of the holy spirit. Verse 19, so then those who were scattered because of this persecution that had occurred in connection with Stephen stoning made their way to Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch speaking the word to no one except to Jews alone. They weren't sharing the message with Gentiles yet but there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who came to Antioch and began speaking to the Greeks, also preaching the lord Jesus and the hand of the lord was with them and a large number who believed turned to the lord.
You don't see the word disciple yet. They're called believing. The ones who believed in the lord. The news about them reached the ears of the church at Jerusalem. They sent Barnabas off to Antioch.
Then when he arrived and witnessed the grace of god, he rejoiced and began to encourage them all with resolute heart to remain true to the lord, the lord Jesus. For he was a good man and full of the holy spirit and of faith and considerable numbers were brought to the lord. Again, you don't see the word disciple but you see people getting saved, coming to the lord. They're growing in numbers and he left for Tarsus to look for Saul. Man, I need help here to help disciple these new believers and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch and for an entire year, they met with the church and taught considerable numbers and the disciples...
Notice that they're describing all these people we've just been reading about. They're called disciples. They were first called Christians in Antioch. The word Christian only appears three times in the New Testament, and the word disciple appears well over 200 plus times. So just to help us understand and to see that there is an interchangeable word, especially I'll I'll I'll I'll qualify that to say after the Holy Spirit had come at Pentecost, the followers, the believers of Jesus, the ones who truly accepted, received, all the different words we got saved from their sins, they're called disciples.
23:42 What disciples do: The Great Commission
After he's on Earth for forty days, showing himself with many convincing proofs that he really is alive from the dead, that he is the Messiah. In verse 18, and Jesus came up and spoke to them, and this is the disciples saying, all authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Somebody a long time ago, I heard say, describe this as kind of a sandwich if you would imagine. This is the bread perhaps on the bottom, the foundation. All authority, Jesus says, has been given to me in heaven and on earth, and then he gives the meat of this...
The whole matter here, the sandwich, but then he puts the the... Encapsulates it on top with the very last statement in verse 20, and behold or lo, I am with you always even to the end of the age. But what are disciples commanded to do by the one we say that we're a student of, a pupil of, a a follower of. And Jesus tells us, he says, all authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Going, or it's actually therefore going.
And here's the one in the Greek grammar and even in our English grammar, there's one commandment. The you is the understood subject. So you, plural, of the disciples that were there, what's the main simplest form in the... And, again, the grammar, god is is the best English and Greek teacher there is, obviously. And there's one commandment there, and it's there...
That's the one of the four times that the the word disciple is used as a verb and as disciple. Teach, the King James says. The other translations usually say, and make disciples. Make the followers. Make the students of all the nations.
Baptizing them in the name of the father and the son and the holy spirit. So notice the one simple subject is you and I, disciples of Christ throughout all the ages. And the Lord Jesus gives the one command, make disciples. Make disciples. How do we do that?
Well, we're going and then the first thing, notice they're called disciples even before the baptism. So, the belief to believe on the lord Jesus Christ is all that's required to truly be, have sins forgiven, to have the holy spirit, to be born again, to receive Christ, to allow him to be your lord and savior, that simple repentance and faith in the lord Jesus and now you're a disciple and then the next step, what what are we, the believers, already the disciples to do? We're to go and reproduce. We're to go and reproduce and make disciples And the first thing that happens as their evidence that they are a disciple, that they've gotten saved, that they believe in the lord Jesus, is now we, the believers, are commanded to be baptizing them in the name of the father, the son, and the holy spirit. And then there's one other thing, verse 20, to continue to teach them all that I commanded you.
Teach them to observe actually it says, not just teach them the commandments but teach them to do what the lord says and then of course again, and behold, I'm with you always even to the end of the age. And then we see that the disciples, they took this very seriously. And for after the coming of our lord, the death of our lord, the resurrection of our lord, the ascension of the lord, he says, as the father has sent me, what? So send I you. And you see true disciples, they're reproducing more disciples.
Now, of course, they're just like us in other countries and just like us here. We all fail in this as we ought and and because we're still battling the flesh, but still the goal is to make disciples. So, turn to Acts chapter two and you'll see this in action, the great commission. Of course, through the whole book of Acts, that's exactly what we see but we'll start in verse 36. Acts two verse 36.
Now, the lord Jesus as it were is gone in his human physical, even his glorified bodies at the father's right hand and so he sends the Holy Spirit to us and now he says, he's there with us forever and so there's verses in the Bible that say, we are now the temple of the Holy Spirit. Spirit lives in us. He's never going to leave us. Jesus himself said, I will never leave you nor forsake you. Bible says, Christ is in you, the hope of glory, which is it?
The Holy Spirit or Jesus? Yes. And Jesus even says, all those who believe, I can't remember the exact quotation in the gospel of John. He says, those who believe on me, I and my father will make our dwelling within them. So, the father is in us.
The son is in the father, the father is in the son, and and it's the mystery, isn't it? God is in us but Christ is in us, the hope of glory but only if you're born again and only if you've made a choice to become a follower, a disciple of the lord Jesus and believe that his teaching is true, that he said, I am the way, the truth, the life. No one comes to the father, but through me. And even as earthly mother believed that message that no, I'm a sinner. That's why she cried out God, my savior in Luke chapter one.
And she herself was at the foot of the cross, surely crying because this was her human son, but this was her god, her lord, her savior. She understood that. Entirely, completely. At that time, at the foot of the cross, she understood. Before that, even she came with this...
With Jesus' brothers, it said, and to come and get him because it says they thought he was out of his mind. So she had her doubts, it seems, even, I don't know if I don't wanna go too far, but it says that the mother and the brothers came to get him thinking he was out of his mind. We'll just leave it there. Verse 36. So Peter is now the same one who denied the lord the three times is now filled with the spirit.
31:13 Pentecost and the spread of the gospel
And when they came, what did they see? They saw fire, Tongues of fire on all the believers, the disciples, and they heard each one speaking in their own native tongue. There's about 13 different languages that I think there. And they're all praising God in their native tongue, but these are all just, Galileans. And so Peter ends up his message, and he talks about how Christ is the son of God, and he crucified...
He was crucified. He was pierced through, and he rose from the dead, and there's forgiveness only in and through him. Verse 36, therefore, Peter ends his sermon. Let all the house of Israel know for certain that god has made him both lord and Christ, this Jesus, whom you crucified. He said that to thousands of people.
Because it's true and he wasn't afraid it meant his die... His death. He wasn't even concerned about that because he was so consumed with Jesus Christ at that time as the Holy Spirit had come upon him. Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, brethren, what shall we do? Oh my gosh.
This is the most horrible mistake in the universe, and it was to crucify the very messiah that was sent to the Jews first and to hate him and to reject him and spit upon him and put nails in his hands and feet and through the guards, of course, the Roman soldiers, but nonetheless, the Jews, we will not have this man rule over us. Crucify him. Crucify him. Verse 38, Peter said to them, repent and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for or better translation would be would be because of the forgiveness of your sins. Repent.
Don't reject Jesus. Receive Jesus and prove it by your baptism that you're truly... This decision is real. And you'll receive the gift of the holy spirit for the promise, the promise of the holy spirit is for you and your children, for all who are far off, as many as the lord of god will call to himself and with many other words, he solemnly testified, kept on exhorting them saying, be safe in this perverse generation. Don't be like the rest of the world, the rest of the Jews, rejecting Christ as Messiah, rejecting this man Jesus as the lord of glory, as the Messiah.
No, instead, repent, receive him. Verse 41. So then, those who had received his word, they believed his word that Jesus really is my only hope of having my sins forgiven, that he really is the son of god whom I must accept as lord. Receive his word, they were baptized and that they were added about 3,000 souls. They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles doctrine, teaching, and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer.
Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe, many wonders, and signs were taking place to the apostles, and all those who had believed, and on and on it goes. And the last verse of the chapter, they were praising God and having favor with all the people, and the lord was adding to their number day by day, those who were being saved. Well, they didn't all of a sudden just poof get saved because the whole rest of the New Testament, Paul and other apostles explained that people don't get saved. It says, faith comes by hearing, hearing by the word of god. Peter says the same thing.
It says, we're born again through the word of god. And so Paul also says, how are they gonna hear unless someone goes and tells them? So, disciples in the New Testament, the first disciples, they were out telling their world to become a disciple of Jesus Christ. That it's true. He is the lord, the savior of the world.
Believe on him. Receive him as your lord and savior. You don't have to turn there but you remember the story of Zacchaeus and he was up in the tree because he was a short man. The crowds were coming and he was a tax collector, a thief, a swindler of his own Jewish people and Jesus is coming by and god's already working in his heart. He must have already had some sort of drawing to Jesus and knowing that he's a sinner and he climbs up the tree.
He wants to see Jesus and Jesus walks under him and stops and he says, come on down. I'm going to have dinner at your house and then at the end of the story, Jesus concludes and he says, salvation has come to this man. He has believed. That's why he was up in a tree. He wanted to know He wanted to become one of his disciples and Jesus said, and the son of man, the son of man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.
And then again, I referred to it once before it. Jesus and his resurrected body in the upper room, he says to the disciples, he says, as the father has sent me, so send I you. So send I you. Luke 14, if you'll turn there for a moment. Moment.
36:21 The cost of discipleship
Yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. And then he goes on and says, take time and think about it. Sit down and consider just like a, a man who's going to build a house, a tower, or just like a army, king. He's not going to go to war unless he figures out, oh, wait, I can do this.
And then verse 33, so then none of you can be my disciple who does not give up all his own possessions. These are difficult. This is the word of the lord Jesus. And the word hate there is not an emotional hatred. There's plenty of other scripture tells us to honor your mother and father, to obey your mother and father, take care of, your parents if they're widowed, and those kind of things.
But nonetheless, god says it's all... It's a comparative and contrast thing, and it's just if mother or father's gonna interfere with your decision to follow Christ, then you must choose Christ or you can't be my disciple. In other places, it says whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not even worthy of me. So he doesn't even mention discipleship. He's talking about being saved.
And that's... And and that's what we see the scriptures seeming to tell all of us that this isn't a work salvation. This is grace. So how do we get to this place that we're willing and wanting and to obey the Lord and to go out and tell the world that Jesus is the only hope for salvation? How do we get to the place where we can say no to our fleshly wants and desires and put everything second to Jesus Christ, to being his true disciple, and to obeying his commandment to go out and make disciples?
Well, the only way we can do that is what Paul said. He says the love of Christ compels me, constrains me. It's only as we meditate on the lord Jesus Christ as we spend our time focusing on him and seeing him, who he is and what he's done for us, and what's waiting for us if we're truly saved, that we're gonna ever be able to let our parents go in spite of following Jesus. Let our possessions go in light of following Jesus and again, I'll just leave it with you. Those are three qualifications that Jesus gives where you cannot be my disciple, he says.
I wrestle with it just like you, but the word of God, you know, what what Paul says, let the word of God be true in every man a liar. Matthew twelve thirty, just give me a moment. We're almost done here. Matthew chapter 12 verse 30. There are some who have undertaken to just gather some of these difficult truths, teachings of Jesus and and that's basically what they'll do.
They'll either teach a sermon or write a small book and it says the difficult sayings of Christ. He did it for us. He left all the glory. We focusing on the first service. And there wasn't time but I wanted to get up and just read through the first part of John chapter one.
He left heaven in all glory. And though the world was created through him, he was on the world. He was in the world. He left heaven just to come down and be in the world. If that was all he ever did, that demands our full trust and obedience to him to follow him.
But, of course, it goes way further than that. Being in the form of God, he empties himself. Now he's in the form of man, a bond servant. And then he humbles himself to be obedient to the father because he loves the father even to the point of death, even the death on the cross. And Jesus says these words in verse 30.
41:19 Are you with Jesus or against him?
But there's no in between. He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters. Wow. Convicting words, I'm sure for all of us. I know it is for me.
And the Lord is on a mission. God the Father creates the world so he can put himself on display. God demonstrates his love toward us and while we're yet sinners, Christ dies for us. That's the whole purpose of the universe. Christ came just to seek and save the lost.
And you and I and I say, I, for sure, we get so distracted with all the cares and the things of the earth. We're out of time, but there's so much more could be said. I wanna be a true disciple. I wanna follow Jesus. And yet we battle.
We battle against the the flesh constantly. I was wondering, I don't know if you still have the black hymnals there, but one eighty eight, if you do, when I survey the wonders cross. Here's our motivation. Here's our motivation. And the last verse sums it all up that we owe them everything.
We sing those songs a lot. I have a difficult time singing them all the time because we know that we just fall short, especially when it gets to the last part. You know, even if I had the whole of nature, that's too small, but I... Your love demands everything. And may god just help us.
Again, I haven't arrived. I'm battling this battle against the flesh in America, in the wealthy western world, just like you are. But may God help us to really surrender our life to him because he surrendered his life for us.
