Outline and transcript

0:00 Opening the Bible to 2 Peter 1

Open your Bibles to second Peter chapter one. Second Peter chapter one. Second Peter chapter one. We're gonna start in verse 18. Second Peter one and eighteen.

Give you a minute to to find it. While while you're looking for for it, let me ask for you to be in prayer for us. Devin, Maddie, and 12 others from other assemblies are going be going to Mexico. So please be praying for us. We're going to be doing medical outreach.

We're gonna be doing evangelism in in other villages, and we're gonna have a massive, youth rally. What they're gonna do is bring, people from all over the small villages and the mountains into this one town and, and have a big rally. Last time we did it, they had 200 young people there. So this time we're we're, shooting for 250. And last time that we did it, we had several young people come to the Lord.

And so we're praying for God to to work in a mighty way. So pray for us as we're planning the trip and getting everything ready. Also pray that Devin and and Maddie won't get Mantasumo's revenge. She's... You should start eating hot sauce now and Mexican food to get yourself ready.

Alright. Are you there? Everybody found it? Second Peter chapter one, and let's start with verse 18. And here we go, and we ourselves heard the utterance made from heaven when we were with him on the Holy Mountain.

And so we have the prophetic word made more sure to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in the dark place until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts. But know this first of all, that no prophecy of scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the the holy spirit spoke from God. But, even though this is true, but, transition, false prophets also arose among the people just as there will also be false teachers among you who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them, the way of the truth will be maligned.

And in their greed, they will exploit you with false words. Their judgment from long ago is not idle and their destruction is not asleep. Wow. Let's pray. Father, we, thank you for your holy word and ask that the spirit of God would speak to us and would encourage us.

In Jesus' name, amen. Amen. If you're looking for a title, it's this, you can trust the word of God. Alright? What's the title?

You can trust the word of God. I I was witnessing to to this guy, and he was an older man, probably around 40, and his question was, how can I trust the word of God when men wrote it? Did you hear that one? How can I trust the word of God when men wrote it? Right?

And then I met with another person that almost had the same question. You say it's from God, but how can I trust it if man wrote it and man always lies and makes mistakes? Right? So we're gonna try to answer that one. And so my affirmation to you right now is that you can trust the word of God.

You can trust it. I've been saved for forty three years and the word of God has not lied to me yet. But that's probably not enough evidence for you. That's okay. Let's take a look at what the word of God has has to say.

4:16 Peter's testimony: the holy mountain

If you were in a court of law and you were looking to to verify, you would want at least two or three witnesses. If you were in a murder trial, only one guy says he saw you, you're like, that's just one guy. But if two or three say they saw it, then you have something, don't you? And so Peter, James, and John were in the Holy Mountain and he says this, I saw Jesus and I saw him transform. I saw him right before my eyes.

He started to glow when he transformed. And so no one can say, well, how do know? Because with my own eyes, I was there, and I heard the voice of God say, this is my son. He is God. And and we saw it.

And and it was like, So... But that was last week. Right? That's what he was saying. So then he says, even though my testimony with the others is true and real, you still might say, yeah, but that's not enough.

And he goes, okay. We have something even better. And that is the old testament or or the word of God itself is proof that Jesus is real and that the word of God is inspired. Alright? So let's look at a couple of things that I think are important that we need to realize.

God's word, for those of you who were in the marriage conference, you remember those four things that were repeatedly said in the in the word of... In the teaching during that conference. Alright? The word of God is inspired. The word of God is inerrant.

The word of God is authoritative, and the word of God is sufficient. Alright? Now, we we we base, all of our faith in in this reality about god's word. Alright? That the word of god is inspired.

That means that god breathe life into the word of god. That that when when I read a book, I'm reading several books right now, they're excellent books, but but they're not inspired. They're very good. They're very inspirational, but they're not inspired. God breathed life into the word of God.

See, the issue in today's society is that nobody's reading the word of God. They were saying that in Moody, radio station for the last two weeks. The the bible is still the number one seller, but very few people are reading it now. Very few people even know it. Know the word of god but the word of god is inspired and because god inspired, god breathed life into it, we would say with great affirmation, the word of God is inerrant.

That means it doesn't contain errors. That means that whenever God says something, it's absolutely true. God never lies. So when when God says, in the beginning, God created the heavens and earth, we take them, we say, okay, it's true. God said it.

It's a reality. Man is still... Where do we come from? Where do we come from? And you constantly see in the Internet, oh, man, they think life is in Mars, and they think this, and it's like, just believe the word of God.

It already told you that God created the heavens and the earth and created man. And so I believe it. And because it's divine inspiration, and because God doesn't lie, he doesn't have errors, I can trust what it says. And so if if the Bible says that man dies because of sin, I have an explanation. And so the scientific world is still trying to figure out why does man die?

Go to the Bible. The Bible says because of sin. So we have a clear explanation and I know it's true. Nothing else makes sense. Nothing else makes sense.

And so when the bible says there's a heaven and hell, it's real. It's true. It's reality because the bible says it. Right? And so there is a heaven and hell even though today they're trying to dismiss it.

So, the word of god then is inspired by god. It's inerrant. It doesn't contain errors in every way, shape, or form. When it says something historical, it's true. And so if the word of God is inspired by God and it doesn't have errors, well then that means it has authority.

8:46 The word of God is sufficient

I didn't say that with much conviction. Alright. It's still true even if you didn't say with conviction. Alright. So the word of God is inspired.

It's inerrant. It's authoritative, and it's sufficient. It's sufficient. I I... It's...

I can go to and I can live my life and it has answers for every question that I have, every enigma, everything that baffles me, everything that seems unjust. I can go to the word of God and it's sufficient to answer and for me to place my faith in it. Alright? Okay. So, when we look at the Bible, we interpret the Bible literally, historically, contextually, and grammatically.

Alright? Now, do not... It's not an allegory. It's not an allegory. As you know, I I drive a a bus as a side job.

Right? The tent maker job as they say in the bible. Right? And so I had a bunch of, middle school kids and they go to a particular, religion, religious school. And they were in there and they were talking.

And they said, quote, the teacher told us that that that Genesis, the first part of it, is not really true history, it's just an allegory, it's just stories of fables someone made up. Of course, I almost fell over and and screamed, but I thought, okay. So I did say, I couldn't contain myself. That's not true. It is real.

It is real. So if they throw me out, that's fine. Sometimes you just can't take a big lie. Right? So when when we look at the bible then, we're going to look at it historically.

It's historical truth. When I read Genesis one, that God created and then there was a man and a woman, and then they sinned, and then the nation started spreading up from there, it's historical truth because you you interpret the bible historically. Alright? Literally, there wasn't Adam and Eve. There really was.

And contextually within context and grammatically, the words have meaning. Right? The words have meaning. So that's how we look at the bible. It's a real explanation of God, how he created everything, our need for a savior, all the scriptures focuses on the Lord Jesus Christ.

Alright? So so if you're the enemy, what is your strategy going to be against Christians and against people coming to know God? Get them to disbelieve the Bible. If you can get them to disbelieve the Bible, that's it. You got...

You have them. You have them. Right? And so guess what Satan's doing? Can I really trust the word of God?

Can I really trust it? Or or is there doubt in my mind? Alright. So the argument here is Peter saying, look, me, John, and James, we were in the mountain. We saw Jesus.

We saw him transformed. We heard a voice from heaven. God's saying, is God. He is the Messiah. He is the savior.

And it's my personal testimony, our testimony, and it's true. But if that's not good enough for you, you have the scriptures. You have the Bible. And notice what he says in verse 19. So we have the prophetic word made more sure.

In other words, you can really trust the word of god because of all the old testament prophecies fulfilled in Jesus. Do you know that if if you go... In fact, if you wanna do this afterward, don't do it right now. I know you have your phones and all that kind of stuff, there's Internet in here, so don't do it. But if you want to go to go to bible.org and and put on there fulfilled prophecies of Jesus from the Old Testament.

He's gonna give you a detailed list, a huge list. He gives you the Old Testament passage, the New Testament fulfillment. He goes, one, two, three, four, boom, boom, and it keeps going and keeps going. There's over a 100. There's over a 100.

And he goes, this is not by chance. The the bible, whenever... When it says it, it was fulfilled in Jesus, so many of them, it just baffles you. And so he goes, I have my testimony, Peter says, but even more than that, look at the word of God. Everything it says was fulfilled in Jesus and you can keep going prophecy after prophecy.

There's no way that was by chance. It's a reality that you can put your faith on. And so we have the prophetic word made more sure, watch, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place. In other words, listen, read it, pay attention to it because it will give you light. The dark places where we're living right now, everything is so dark, so much lies and so much life, everything is just confusion.

13:58 The word brings light and direction

It was outside. And so he's walking through the to the path, and he got bit by a cobra. You came this close to dying. But he didn't have a lamp to to light the way, so he didn't see it. It was right there.

Right? And and so that's the way life is. Without the word of god, we're we're just confused, and we're just going, what's life about? The word of God should be studied and observed because it's true because it... Because of prophetic fulfillment over and over again.

There's over 300 fulfilled prophecies of the Old Testament already came true and over a 100 of Jesus' life alone. You can trust it. The prophecies were fulfilled. And so because I can trust it, I should look at it so it will guide my life and take away all that confusion about salvation and sin and life and what's life about. And so pay attention to it until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your heart.

For for your information, the morning star is Jesus Christ. So make a little note of that in your Bibles. I'm going to read to you now. Check this out. I have three Bibles going here.

I'm super spiritual, right? Yeah. Alright. So look at the way the the the New Living Translation says it. I think it brings some light to the text.

Okay. So verse 19, because of what... Because of that experience that we saw on the mountain, we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets. You must pay close attention to what they wrote, for their words are like a lamp shining in a dark place until the day dawns and Christ, the morning star, shines in your heart. That's a pretty good way of describing this verse in a more practical way where you can understand it.

Alright? That's very well done. Alright? And so as you're reading the word of God, what you realize is Jesus Christ is a reality and he's going to come back soon. So the word of God leads you to Christ, worship him, to serving him, to believing in him, to to being saved by him.

And then he goes on into verse 20, but know first of all that no prophecy of scripture... Now, in this particular verse right here, when he says no prophecy of scripture, he's talking about all scriptures, Old Testament and New. The whole thing. All of scripture. So so there's not a single thing in scripture, listen to what it says, is a matter of one own interpretation.

Alright? So in other words, man did not make up the Bible. God supernaturally has preserved his holy word for our benefit, never made by an act of human will or human initiative. So in other words, Old Testament wrote Moses then said, well, let me just start writing and talking about God. Let me see, okay, let me see, there's a God, and we were in Egypt, and he took us through, and he made up all these rules.

See, wasn't... Moses didn't sit there and do that. The Holy Spirit was working in his life. He said, now sit down and I'm going to guide you, and you're going to write what I have to say. Now this is important.

I'm gonna write what I have to say and the apostle Paul, the same, and the apostle John and every one of them, they didn't just make it up. God used their individual style, of writing and way, but every word that they wrote down was from God. Peter didn't make it up and write down what he thought. John did... It's not his opinion.

It's not Moses' opinion. Or Zechariah. Or or David. All those that wrote in the scriptures. They didn't make it up.

God was guiding them and they wrote every word that god wanted to write. It's not made up by man. It wasn't man's idea. I mean, come on. Who would come up with the idea that we're gonna send, god from heaven to become a man and die for sinners who don't deserve it and don't ask for it.

Who'd who'd make that up? Nobody. In fact, people resist it. What do you mean? I can't earn my way to heaven?

No, you can't. And then why not? And that's the big argument. Only the bible teaches that you can't earn your way to heaven because man won't make that up. Man says there's something you have to do to get to heaven.

That's man's invention. But God says no, that's not my thought. My thought is different. And so Peter is saying, look, I have my testimony, but even greater than that is the word of God because look at all the fulfilled prophecies. You can trust it.

It's incredible how accurate it is. But then even more than that, think about this, that there's not a single prophecy of a matter of one's own interpretation. No prophecy, verse 21, was ever made by an act of human will. It's not man's will or man's thought or man's opinion. The word of god is not anybody's idea.

And so when somebody tells me, well, how can I trust it because a man wrote it? Yeah. God used the man or the 40 different authors, right, throughout scripture to write it down, but notice what it says. Verse 21, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. So it was never made by an act of human will or human initiative, it came into being by God.

20:13 Moved by the Holy Spirit

Well, alright. So it's it's about it's about a big ship. Of course, back in those days, in the eighteen hundreds, right, they had no motors. Everything depended on the sails. So they have a big scene in there where there's no wind at all.

And so the the men are are sitting in the ship and they're just stuck waiting and waiting. They're to death. There's no wind. And then unless the wind moves it, the ship is just sitting there. Right?

So this is exactly what the text means. The Holy Spirit moved the hand of the man to write down exactly what God wanted. That's what it means, to be borne along as as a ship is being pushed along by the wind. If the wind doesn't blow, that ship ain't going nowhere. Right?

And so that's exactly what it's saying. Men did not write their own opinions. Please be convinced of this. It's from God. This is the holy book that that we respect and we read carefully, we're very careful in our interpretation of the text.

Alright. And so, you see what he's saying? I have my own testimony, and it's real, and there was three of us, but if that's not enough, there's fulfilled prophecy. And if that's not enough, don't forget this reality, that the word of God is is is God breathed, inspired by the Holy Spirit because only the Holy Spirit knows the mind of God. And so the Holy Spirit was directing these men to write down exactly what God wanted to write.

And so you can't approach the word of God. I don't like what's there, and so I don't accept it. God doesn't care. He wrote down his word, and it's up to us to teach what he wrote down, not to deny it or try to make an excuse for it. Wow.

All right. Now, after he establishes this reality, notice the transition, but... Now the reason I'm saying this, this is what he means by the but transition, notice, false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you who were secretly introduced to destructive heresies. Now Peter is saying, why am I saying that? Because Satan knows that if we trust the word of God, if if we realize that it's inspired by God, that it's inerrant, that it's authoritative, and it's enough, then Satan knows he's gonna lose.

And so what is his strategy? As from the very beginning, when he told Adam and Eve, did God really say that? Right? What was he saying? You can't trust God's word.

And they believed him. That's the sad part about it. Now what happens is that there's always going to be people who don't like what the word of God says, so, they're going to change the word of God. And so I want you to notice, we're going to break this down. First of all, let me quote from John MacArthur, Many in the church are tolerating any teacher who claims to be Christian, regardless of the content of his teaching.

Such mindless acceptance in the name of love and unity had tragically produced a careless indifference to the truth. As a result, some Christians view biblical absolutes as an embarrassment, preferring to embrace false teachers despite the bible's clear protest, end quote. Wow. Okay. So notice then that if the devil is going to succeed in in destroying you, knocking your faith down, he's going to have to get you to doubt the word of God or to not read it.

24:15 Secretly coming in with false words

But they're going to say it so masked and so carefully, it's going to sound like the truth, but it's not. So I want you to notice that it says they secretly introduce. The false teacher or teachers are never honest and straightforward about what they really believe because if they did, the church would never embrace them. Jude chapter four puts it this way, certain men crept in unnoticed, that is to sneak in without being seen. The the word is in the Greek, which means a clever defendant attempting to fool a judge or a criminal secretly returning to the scene of the crime.

So so how are they going to be successful? Well, they have to secretly come in and not really say what they really believe until later, until they get some kind of foothold. So these men secretly introduce destructive heresies. So let's look at the word destructive heresies. Apolleias is the Greek word, heresies of destruction would produce utter ruin.

They have disastrous eternal consequences, in other words. They dam rather than save. In case you're wondering, heresies means an opinion especially a self willed opinion. So so when we say somebody is teaching heresy, we're saying they're they're rejecting the word of god because they wanna... They're coming up with their own opinion about things of salvation, of eternity, of heaven and hell, or whatever about who Jesus is, about the resurrection.

They're coming up with their own opinion. And so a destructive heresy is something that can damn you because it won't tell you the truth about who you are in... As a sinful person and your need for a savior. Or they somehow change something about God or something about the trinity or something about the the the nature of Jesus, they they twist and turn. And so it's destructive.

They have terrible consequences. So a destructive heresy means a destructive opinion. Destructive opinion. Notice what else the text says. Even denying the master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.

To deny the master means to refuse, to be unwilling to say no, indicating the false teachers reject divine authority. Remember we said that the word of God is authoritative. Alright. Master, when it says the master, is despotation in Greek, it means sovereign lord, ruler, or lord. So in other words, what the text is saying is they don't want to make, to take a submissive humble attitude to the Lord Jesus Christ.

They refuse to submit to him and his revealed word. Because they were not regarded as the master's personal property, they owned their complete allegiance to him. So so notice the text then. False teachers among you will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the master who bought them. So what what...

Here's what it's saying. They hear that Jesus Christ, through his blood, redeemed them, bought them from the slave market, and consequently, we are servants of the Lord Jesus Christ. Right? He's our master, he's our Lord, when he saves me, I bow to him and he tells me what to do. Right?

I think Colossians put it this way. Some people were saying that, oh, I'm having experiences with angels, and oh, it's better than Christ. And then Paul says in the text, but but it's just their their carnality and their arrogance. They didn't have any visions of angels. That's not true because an angel would never do that.

They bow to Jesus. Right? And so what what they don't want to do is bow to Jesus. That's what it says in Colossians two, they won't submit to the head, Jesus Christ. And so they come up with their own thing.

They deny the fact that Jesus bought them, purchased them, and consequently we owe him our allegiance. We owe him our allegiance. Notice then, some of the stuff they teach. And many will follow their sensuality. Many will follow their sensuality.

29:04 Today's acceptance of homosexual movement

The bible says he created a man and a woman to to procreate, to have children, and to teach him to love the Lord Jesus. And he says clearly that it's a perversion. And what are they teaching everywhere? It's not a perversion, it's right. And why can't we love it?

And if God is loving and he doesn't care if we love each other, it doesn't... Yes, it does matter. And it's against the bible and God hates it. LBG and LPT, all those words they put on there, it's all a rebellion against God. Now let me give you an example.

I was in Texas speaking to a high school group in a camp. There was about a 130 young people in there. And so we were going through the purpose of us being created. And so God created us as a man or woman to get married, to have children, to raise them to fear God. But there was a bunch of them in there that rejected that they got mad.

Wait a minute. Wait a minute. What are you saying? I said, well, I'm saying what you just heard, that God didn't create us to be gay, homosexual, he created man and woman. Wait a minute, but if I accept that, my friends will reject me because they...

Some of them are that way. I said, it doesn't matter what your friends say or do their opinion, what does God say? And some of them got really mad. So we had to go back the next day and do another session on it and give more detailed information as why God created us and his purpose. Many of them repented and got saved.

But there was a handful that didn't still. But praise God for the those who did come to know Christ that week. Boy, they fought it though, tooth and nail. I mean, they fought me with everything they could, but I had to be true to the word of God. And praise God that some did repent.

Alright. So what what what are they what are the false teachers saying? Oh, God is a God of love. He's full of grace. You can go ahead and do that.

It's no big deal because God loves. That's a half truth that can damn you. He's also just and righteous and has to punish sin. Right? So many will follow their sensuality which you're seeing today every day.

Right? And because of them, the way of the truth will be maligned, which you know is true. You've seen it happening. Now notice the next thing that they do. In their greed, they will exploit you with false words.

The next thing we see is they have greed. The Greek word is I don't know if I'm pronouncing it right, but it means uncontrolled covetous desire for money and wealth. It's everywhere they're doing ministry to get rich. Now you've seen it, you've seen it on TV, you've seen it in ads. You know, some dude, sent me a thing about...

That he he went to Israel and brought back holy oil and if I give him $50 he'll send me a little bit of it so I can get healed. Then there was the holy sand, and then there was all this other stuff that they brought back from Jerusalem. What are they doing? They're getting rich. They're getting rich.

Isn't it interesting that nothing changes? What happened two thousand years ago with the the what the false teachers were doing, right, sensuality perverting the the the the purpose for our creation, right, perverting sex in other words, and greed. It's a very same thing that we see today. Can you deny that? Isn't it true?

Yes, it unfortunately is true. And so, notice then that the text says, and in their greed, they will exploit you with false words. God doesn't want you to be sick, God wants you to be healed. Just claim your Cadillac and it's going to come. Claim your money and it's going to be there.

I have relatives who tell me that. The other day, a couple of weeks ago, was sick and one of them called me and says, Just claim your healing. I did it, it didn't work. Two weeks later I finally got over it, you know. So...

I was being facetious. I... It didn't work anyway. I did try to... Alright.

So in their greed, they will exploit you with false words. Alright? Here's what it means. False arguments and twisted doctrine. False arguments and twisted doctrine.

33:56 False arguments and twisted doctrine

So, man, they can talk. Oh, they're smooth as butter. Smooth as butter. And they flatter you. They always catch us by surprise because they look so promising.

Philippians three eighteen and nineteen says they are enemies of the cross. God is their appetite. So their selves in other words. They set their mind on earthly things. Jude put it this way, they creep in unnoticed.

They turn the grace of God into licentiousness. It's okay. God's grace will cover it. You can move in with a girl. You can do your own thing.

It doesn't matter. God God is a good God and he's full of grace. He'll... And we just play around with sin acting as if God doesn't care because he's so full of grace. And it says in Jude four also, they deny our only master and Lord Jesus Christ, the same thought.

They don't want to bow to Jesus as their Lord and savior, as their God, as their director. Alright? Now, what does God have to say about this? They're going to be judged. They're going be judged.

Now, let me let me put it to you this way. I'll put it to you this way. Do you like it when someone changes your words? Right? You know how somebody puts words in your mouth?

Doesn't it bother you? And we're like, wait, wait, wait, I didn't say that. But but didn't you? No. No.

What did I say? Right? Have you argued that before? Now, how do you think God feels when men take his word and they twist it? You look throughout the whole scriptures from the old testament all the way through, and the anger of God is burning against them.

That's one thing that burns them up is when someone puts words in his mouth that he didn't say. Look at verse four, for if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness reserved for judgment, and if he didn't spare the ancient world but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness with seven others when he brought brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly, and if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly thereafter, and if he rescued righteous light oppose, oppressed by the sensuality of unprincipled men, for by what he saw and heard that righteous men, while living amongst them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day, then the Lord knows how to rescue ungodly from the temptation and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment. In other words, you better get this right right now and understand that God is going to judge them. Every man who talked falsely, who twisted his word, who didn't interpret correctly, who said lies, God is going to judge them.

Look, when the angels fell, he judged them. As you know, in the gospels, when when Jesus approached a man full of demons, what did they say? We know who you are, Jesus. Don't send us to? To the pit.

Because some angels were so evil that they're already contained in the pit. They're already in hell, in their angelic pit chained in there. And those that are still loose, they're begging Jesus not to send them there. God judged some of them because they were... They did something unnatural.

And I don't have time for that. We can do a whole study on that. It says, who did not keep their proper abode domain, but abandoned the proper abode, Jude six. So these angels were perverted, in other words, and God condemned them. And then God judged through the flood, the violence and all types of evil going on.

They didn't believe, but then suddenly the judgment came. And then he also judged Sodom and Gomorrah, homosexuality. They kept on. Even when the angels came and were were were, trying to rescue Lot, they were trying to pull him in. They were so perverted.

And God sent fire and burned them. And God says, don't think. I'm not gonna judge because I am. This is, I've prayed a lot about this because I'm like, man, this is a powerful message. So so so God doesn't take lightly when we mess with his holy word.

We we we study it because we believe and we are convinced that it is inspired, it is inerrant, it is authoritative, and and it is sufficient. Are you convinced? Be careful when you interpret the text that you're saying what God says and not what you think. Right? It's not man's opinion, it's God's word.

39:41 Teach what He wrote in the word of God

Thank you and we do acknowledge that we can trust your word, that it is true and reliable and that you don't lie to us, and we we trust it. And through it, we have learned that man needs to be saved because man is absolutely lost without you. Help us then to not be like these false teachers who don't want to bend their will to the authority of Jesus Christ. Jesus, we wanna bow to you and receive orders from you. We declare that you are God, that you are master and our savior, that you are our lord, and we do submit to you with all of our hearts and with joy.

In Jesus' name. Amen.
